For Christmas I am going up to Napier to spend Christmas with family. One of the traditions we put up the Christmas tree on Christmas eve. We then always go down to the closest park and play a game of into town for the boxing day sales.

Becoming a year 9
Hey,
Next year will be a really big year for me because it will be my fist year in college. I am really excited for next year because it will be a new adventure for me. I am excited to learn new things and meet new people. I am looking forward to all the big sporting events like the McEvedy shield and all the rugby matches. I am going to try my best with all my work and listen to what the teachers tell me. Altogether this is going to be one of the coolest thing I have ever done.

SPEECHES
Hey,
Yesterday I did my speech and it was very nerve racking. My speech was about Cristiano Ronaldo the soccer player. I thought I did very well but there was lots of competition.I personally think I did well but the only thing I need to improve on not shaking my legs while reading my speech. I also enjoyed listening to other peoples speech and I learn a lot more interesting thing.

Divergent
Hey,
The book that I have recently read is Divergent. It book set the dystopia future and is about a 16 year old girl named Tris who switches from her faction about not being selfish and give lots to others. The Faction that she picks is a faction about fighting and protecting the city they live in, but when another faction decides to over-throw the government and Tris and her friends have to stop this from happening.

Speech
Hey,
At school we are writing our speeches and I am excited yet nervous. I am excited because I love reading my speech out and I love listening to other peoples. I am nervous because I always tend to stuff up somewhere in my speech so I will have to practice it a lot this time. This year I want to focus on my speed because when I am in front of the class I always speak very fast. I am confident that I will do well but there are lots of other people so it will be tough.

Space
Hey,
This term we have been learning about space and I have found this topic interesting. We have learnt lots of things about space like the Moon, Solar systems and things orbiting around the Sun. The thing that has interested me the most is different Solar Systems. Like what if there was life on a different planet how cool would that be!!!!! Another thing I found interesting but we haven't learnt yet is constellations. I like these because they are like patterns that are made out of stars and they look really cool. This space topic has been fun to learn and I hope that I learn a lot more about in our lessons to come.

Holidays
Hey,
In the Holidays I did heaps of awesome things but one of my favourite things that was when I went to the Tramp park with Rory. The tramp park the this massive room filled with tramps and it has a big foam pit in the middle. It was so much fun I learned how to do a front-flip and land it and I also did some back-flips into the foam pit. There were some really good trampoleansets there that could do really awesome things. The tramp park is located in Porirua and I was really fun I think everyone should go there because it is amazing.

Last week was our production and it was amazballs. My favorite thing was all the dances especially the Catina dance cause I was in it. If I was to do the production again I would probably practice the dances more so it was more amazing on the night. My favorite scene was the scene I was in the room 8 part but I also liked the Tainted love song even thou I wasn't in it

Reading Challenge
Hey,At school we have this thing called a reading challenge where you have to read these certain books before the end of the term. If you read the books you get to put your name in a reading draw and you can win some chocolate bars.
So far I have done 2 out of 7 reading challengers. The ones that I have done are the Series Challenge where you have to read 3 books from one series the series that I read was Divergent. The last one that I have done is the to pick a random book from the shelf and read it the book I picked was small steps. I aim to try and do all the challenges this term.

Indoor Cricket
Hey,
Indoor cricket is a great game because it is a game that is normally finished in an hour instead of 5 hours like outdoor cricket. People might think that it's still cricket so its still boring but it's not because the pitch is smaller. In indoor cricket if you hit the back wall on the full you get 6 runs and if you also run you get 7 runs. If you hit the side nets past half-way get 2 runs and if you run 1 as well you get 3 runs. If you hit the side nets in front of half-way you get 1 run and if you run 1 you get 2 runs.. If you hit the ball into the side net and someone catches it on the full it is minus 5 runs.

Production
Hey,
In my production dance (Cantina). We are no where near finished the dance. We have done the first half of the song but we still need to tidy up some of the moves. We are in lines most of the time and I am with good partners for all of the moves where you need to people to do it. I have finished my costume and to be honest it looks pretty cool. I think to make our dance better we need to practice our moves a bit more and listen a bit harder.

Hyrogliphics
Over the past couole of weeks our class has been doing a lot of art aboit Ancient Egypt. We have done things on hyrogliphics portraits of the gods and lots. Here is a pocure I fid of some hyrogliphics. Hyrogliphic was the way the communcated back then instead of books. The thing I like about this picture are the hyrogliphics because they were fun to draw and i put some hidden words in there like my name.

Egypt
Over the past few week we have been doing Ancient Egypt. I have enjoyed doing this topic because it was very interesting learning about what life was like in that time. The most fun thing about the Ancient Egypt topic was the minecraft buildings. The way I learnt about all the Ancient Egypt way of life was when we had to do the double page spread theb the powerpoints. Nairnville
Over the past 6 weeks we have been going to Nairnville for gymnastics. They have a system that you have 10 minutes at each station and there are three stations. There are two instructor stations which teach you new things and one teacher station which you have fun on. My favourite part was the trampoline because you got to bounce really high.
Next week will be even better because we are starting sports so hopefully it will be soccer

Mummmifaction
Hey,
I have learnt that being turned into a mummy is really disgusting. I won't tell how they are made into a mummy because you have know idea how gross it is until you hear it.
I leant this disgusting fact in our reading group on Teusday. We all had to read this double page spread about mummification before we got down the the reading group. Once on the mat we discussed what happened not the piece of paper then Mrs Bolger gave us our task. I think I will always remember this fact because I reamember lots of wierd things. Things that help me remember facts is if I write it down or if I keep telling people about it

Hatchet
Hey,
At the moment we are doing book groups and I am reading a great book called Hatchet. There are 5 people in my group and the are some really cool people to have in my group. One week ago we unlocked crackers. Once you unlock crackers you can bring some snacks to your book group.
In our group we are really good at explaining what has happened in the part that we have just read. We aren't so good at letting one person talk at a time so I think we need improve that. I have gained some good skills with the book groups like I have improved my comprehension skills.

Geronimo Stilton
Hey,
When I was younger I loved to read the book series GERONIMO STILTON!!!! The book was written by a guy called Geronimo Stilton. I found that really confusing when I was younger because it is also the name of the mouse in that book. I liked reading these books because I loved the adventures he had. I also loved how some of the words were put in different fonts and colours. I collected all the books and read them all more then once. Me and my brother would read them together and he loved thaem as much as I did.
The books main plot is that Geronimo is a newspaper writter and he always goes on new adventures to find anthor thing to write about.

The Lego Movie
Hey,
In the holidays I went to the movies with my friend Anthony. The movie was better then thought and it was really funny. I am now obsessed with Everything is awesome which is the song that is in the movie. Anthony invited me to go see the movie so we met up his house before we caught the bus down to Courtney place. We bought the tickets and food. Anthony bought a humongous tub of popcorn and half-way through the movie he started throwing it at me because he didn't want it anymore. #awesome_movie

MIssion Fair
Hey,
On Thursday last week we had our school mission fair which is run by the year 6-8s. This year our school made the most money ever. We made a total of $1904.90 which has been donated to the Solomon islands. My stall which was called Money run was run by Matt. S Rory Sam. V and me. In our game you had to throw your 50 cent coin onto a chocolate bar, if it landed on the bar you got to keep it. Under one of the big chocolate bar was a $10 note.
If I was to do this again next year I would improve the mission fair by having more stalls. I would do this by having a maximum of 3 people in each stall.

I LEARNT TO DO MATHS

Since the start term the maths area we have been learning has been STATISTICS. In the test we did to define what group you the only ting I got wrong was the pie graph section. Then in the test to see how much you had improved I got 100% YAY!!!!!!!! The things that help me learn was Miss Bolger Anthony and the maths sheets we got. I still need to work on everything so I get better at doing it.

The Best Week Of My Life
Hey,
I've just come back from having the best best week of my life at OPC Tongariro. It was so much fun I wish i was still there having lots more fun.
At OPC the thing that I found the hardest was Abseiling because you were 35m in the air and I wasn't very comfortable lowering myself down. The easiest thing at OPC for me was the flying fox because all u did was sit down and relax. OPC was just as I expected and had some very high expectation. My proudest moment at OPC was when I got to the bottom of the abseiling cliff. I didn't have a favorite bit of camp because I thought everything was awesome.

Swimming
Hey,
At the moment at swimming I am in kayaking and we do the lessons in one half of the 5 metre pool.
At the moment we are working on capsizing and we are about to start paddling.I think I am improving a lot especially since I have never done kayaking before. To get the most out of the lessons I could probably Pay attention more.

Camp
I am looking forward everything at camp. I am not worried about anything because I will try everything at camp. I have a got everything for camp but a lot of the things like the wetsuit and tramping bag I am going to get at camp.
I am going really well with my fitness because everyday at least I am doing is walking to school and I do a lot of things aswell

The Year has Started
Hey,
The start of the year was just as I expected because it was pretty much the same as the start of last year which means this year is going to be just as good as it was last year. The only thing that is different is that I have a bunch of year 7 friends and I hope by the end the year I will have made friends with all of them. One of the things that is different this year is that we are year 8 so we get to go and camp and another one it that I am house captain so I have a lot more responsibility. The other thing that is different is the spelling. My favorite thing that has happened this year is that I'm a year 8 and a house captain so I have more authority now. Since I am a year 8 so the task system is the same as It was last year, but the only thing that is different is that we are getting more tasks this year so I have to do my work work a lot quicker but I still need to finish it to a higher quality.
